NFL Power Rankings- Week 14

  1. San Diego Chargers- They didn’t miss a beat without Merriman, and LT is continuing his record setting pace.
  2. Indianapolis Colts- Jeff Fisher knows a thing or two about beating these guys after playing them twice a year for so long.
  3. New England Patriots- No matter who these guys plug in on the defense, they do a good job and keep the Pats at the top.
  4. Baltimore Ravens- For the first time since taking over the playcalling, Billick’s offense looked vulnerable.
  5. Dallas Cowboys- These guys can get it done through the air, on the ground, and especially on defense.
  6. Chicago Bears- I don’t know if inserting Griese into the lineup will get anything done. Grossman has to take his lumps.
  7. New Orleans Saints- These guys just continue their cinderella story every week.
  8. Cincinnati Bengals- If this defense can keep it up, the Bengals may have the most complete team in the league.
  9. Kansas City Chiefs- This defense has to revert back to normal quickly, and avoid becoming the Chiefs of old.
  10. Seattle Seahawks- With Hasselbeck and Alexander getting healthy and returning to form, these guys could peak at the right time.
  11. Denver Broncos- With playoff hopes fading fast, Jay Cutler will need to grow up in a hurry.
  12. Jacksonville Jaguars- If the Jaguars want to make the playoffs, they need to gain some consistently, particularly on offense.
  13. New York Jets- Eric Mangini has done some great things with this team, even though some weren’t so sure about his hiring.
  14. New York Giants- Eli Manning finally wasn’t the problem, but unfortunately for the Giants the defense was.
  15. Philadelphia Eagles- Jeff Garcia picked a great time to resurrect his career and be a big part of the offense.
  16. Carolina Panthers- If they can’t hold a lead now, they have no chance of making a playoff run.
  17. Tennessee Titans- Vince Young is exceeding expectations and is doing a good job leading the offense.
  18. Atlanta Falcons- When this team can run the ball successfully and pressure the QB, they’ve got a chance.
  19. Miami Dolphins- Joey Harrington looked more human than usual last week as the Dolphins finally fall.
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers- With their playoff hopes all but gone, Pittsburgh looks to retool for a run next year.
  21. San Francisco 49ers- They really took one in the chin against the Saints, but they’re ahead of the rebuilding curve.
  22. St. Louis Rams- After starting out the season red hot, they’re finishing the season ice cold.
  23. Cleveland Browns- It’s great to see the team rally around their coach and a backup QB in front of a home crowd.
  24. Buffalo Bills- They earned a moral victory in holding Tomlinson to only 2 touchdowns.
  25. Minnesota Vikings- It’s absolutely baffling how this team ever won a game with Brad Johnson at QB.
  26. Houston Texans- It was a nice win, but they should try passing the ball for increased success.
  27. Washington Redskins- Jason Campbell looks good so far, but the whole team clearly doesn’t.
  28. Green Bay Packers- Brett Favre is so frustrated with the way his team is playing he might just come back for another year.
  29. Arizona Cardinals- Matt Leinart is beginning to come into his own, and Edge finally had a good game.
  30. Detroit Lions- Almost wins against good teams have to count for something, right?
  31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- I didn’t think these guys would be as good as last year, but wow.
  32. Oakland Raiders- Their Offensive Line is completely wasting a good defense and decent skill players.
Now that I have the first few entries in the books, here's what I plan to do around here. Every week during football season, I'm going to feature an Eagles preview two days before the game, an Eagles game review the day after a game, power rankings Tuesday, and I'll post entires on Thursday and Friday or Saturday, whichever day I don't post a preview on. These entries will range from player profiles, thoughts on the news, reports on the other teams in Philadelphia, whatever I feel like writing about. So sit back, and enjoy reading.
